From the cockpit to the Capitol

Dr. Jen Cannon flew more than 1,100 combat hours as an F-15E Strike Eagle Weapons Systems Officer during a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force. Since leaving the service, she has led government relations for The Aerospace Corporation and today advises Air Force acquisition leadership on its work with Congress as Senior Defense Policy Advisor at Blue Sky Innovators.

She holds a Doctor of Global Security with a concentration in space policy and international relations, a master's degree in strategic intelligence, and a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from George Washington University. Her research focuses on how threats and new technology are reshaping U.S. national security in space.

Jen lives in Arlington, Virginia, and is a member of the Truman National Security Project and the Women's Foreign Policy Group.

Northern Virginia is home to the people who keep this country running: service members and veterans, federal workers and contractors, small business owners, and the families who support them. Jen wants to bring the same discipline she learned in the cockpit to working for them, listening first, getting the facts right, and delivering results Virginians can see in their own communities.

Home in Northern Virginia

Arlington is where Jen has built her life after the Air Force, among neighbors who serve, work, and raise families in the shadow of the federal government. She and her husband, also an Air Force veteran, are raising their three children here. She is listening to people across the community about what matters most to them.

There will be more to share soon.
